Protocol for Preventing Respiratory Infections
Preventative Measures:
1) Vitamin C - 2,000 to 4,000 mg per day (depending on bowel tolerance - even more is fine, there is no upward limit) Benefits: Strengthens the immune system. Promotes collagen.
2) Vitamin D - 2,000 to 4,000 IU per day (too much Vitamin D is toxic) Benefits: Strengthens the immune system and is good for bone health.
3) Zinc (citrate, orotate, or gluconate) - up to 50 mg per day (Zinc expert Ananda Prasad states that individuals can take 45mg per day without any side effects. I take up to 100mg per day, which is more than the recommended dose, because the higher levels of zinc help me recover from hard workouts. People who engage in extreme exercise need more zinc, as well as other minerals and vitamins than sedentary people.) Benefits: Zinc prevents the replication of viruses, strengthens the immune system, aids muscle repair after workouts, and is an anti-inflammatory.
4) N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) - 600 to 1,800 mg per day (precursor to the antioxidant glutathione) Benefits: Strengthens the immune system, detoxifies the liver, helps prevent cancer, and increases lung function for those with lung issues. NAC, though, is not recommended for asthmatics. Talk to a doctor first if you have asthma.
5) Selenium - 200 mcg per day Benefits: Helps the liver produce glutathione and makes zinc more bioavailable.
Note: Other promising supplements are the amino acid L-Lysine and monolaurin, which comes from coconuts.
Sickness Protocol:
1) Continue the supplements listed above
2) Take megadoses of Vitamin C (as much as you can stand repeatedly throughout the day. Consider taking Liposomal Vitamin C for increased effectiveness.)
3) Increase the Vitamin D dosage to 10,000 or more IU per day.
4) Quercetin (helps drive the zinc into the cells - I have no personal experience with quercetin so I will not recommend a dosage.)
5) Ivermectin (Use the horse paste version so that you don’t have to mess with a doctor for a prescription. The full horse paste dose is for a 1,250 pound horse, so take an amount based on your own weight. Take every 12 to 24 hours until you feel better.) Stops the replication of viruses.
6) Nebulized hydrogen peroxide - Put 3% food grade hydrogen peroxide in a nebulizer. (Can dilute with distilled water if 3% is too harsh. Never go higher than 3% because higher levels are caustic.) HP has anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. HP is extremely effective for killing respiratory infections. Dr. David Brownstein recommends adding a drop or two of Lugol's iodine.

Protocol for Preventing Respiratory Infections
Reply 1:
My sickness protocol was put to the test and it proved to work. I have a lifelong history of being highly susceptible to respiratory viruses.
I felt good Wednesday (Aug 18), working out mid-day over lunch and mowing the lawn in the evening. But then, suddenly from nowhere, I was hit hard. It started with painful, hiccup spasms that can interfere with breathing. I've had those twice before. They lasted for days and were absolutely miserable. Each time, I went to urgent care, and they didn't have a clue. They gave me a drug that numbs the mouth and throat. That served no purpose whatsoever.
The hiccupping was accompanied by a large buildup of mucus, loud coughing, a sore throat, and general weakness. I said to myself, 'I'm putting a stop to this. I'm not letting this get out of control like it did two and half years ago when I went to the hospital with double pneumonia.'
I thought to myself, 'This is some sort of virus although I don't know why it would cause spasmodic hiccupping.' I took a dose of ivermectin (horse paste) three times. I took large doses of Vitamin C, both time-release and liposomal. I upped the Vitamin D. And I did several sessions of nebulized hydrogen peroxide (3% food grade).
I had to treat the condition for a full day, but I got it under control. The hiccup spasms that lasted for days in the past were gone. My throat remained sore through Saturday morning and I remained weak through Sunday. But no trips to the doctor. No trips to urgent care. Intelligent self-care works.
For my own historical record:
Wed Aug 18 - worked out during the day and mowed the lawn in early evening. Suddenly felt sick later in the evening.
Thur Aug 19 - felt awful for about 24 hours, but used my sickness protocol to get it under control.
Fri Aug 20 through Sun Aug 22 - no longer felt bad, but had a slight sore throat and experienced low energy. Mostly rested.
Mon Aug 23 - felt OK, but rested a day longer.
Tue Aug 24 - went back to my regular workouts. Mowed the lawn again.
