There is only one legitimate interpretation of Biblical prophecy - Historical Premillennialism. Christ is the center of all Scripture (Col 2:9, 1Tim 2:5). Christ and His Church inherit all Old Testament promises (Gal 3:28-29). The Church is the eternal Israel of God (Gal 6:15,16). Revelation foretells future events (Rev 1:1) and tells us how history will end.
Historical Premillennialism receives its name from the fact that it is the oldest of all Christian prophetic traditions. It is grounded in the teachings of Jesus and the book of Revelation. Its positions were held by Church Fathers such as Irenaeus, Papias, Justin Martyr, Tertullian and Hippolytus. Historical Premillennialism very simply teaches that there will be a period of tribulation lasting some 3.5 years (Rev 13:5, Dan 7:25), followed by the Second Coming and the 1000 year reign of Christ on earth. The Millennium will lead to the unveiling of the New Heaven and the New Earth.
Other interpretations:
Dispensationalist Premillennialism - Worse than heresy, it is pure and utter blasphemy. Dispieism was invented by john nelson darby in the 1800s, and was later popularized by the thief and scoundrel, cyrus scofield.

The dispies completely ignore the judgments that Jesus pronounced on the ancient Hebrews. Judgments that were fulfilled, with not only the Roman attacks in 66 AD and 132 AD, but with ethnic Hebrews ultimately ceasing to exist as a people. (See the Parable of the Fig Tree - Luke 13:6-9)
The dispies have been fooled into believing that a group of imposters made up of Europeans, Turks, Arabs, and other groups are the Biblical Hebrews. (Look up Dr. Eran Elhaik and the Khazarian Hypothesis.)

Dispies believe that the sole purpose of Jesus is to protect this Gentile Israel. For some unexplainable reason, their Jesus is totally devoted to the religion of the pharisees, which these Gentile impostors have adopted. The dispie dismisses everything Jesus ever said to the pharisees. (See Mat 23:13-36) In dispieism, Jesus has become the pharisees’ bodyguard. It's almost as if Gentile Israel has replaced Jesus as the 2nd member of the Trinity.
Although Jesus offered Himself as the final sacrifice for sin, dispies support the building of a third temple. Dispies believe that sheep, goats, and bulls should once again have their throats cut in bizarre religious rituals.
Dispies accuse Christians of practicing
Extreme dispies such as john hagee believe that Gentile Israel can dispense with Jesus altogether. hagee once claimed that Jesus was not the Messiah. Therefore, neither the original Hebrews (nor their Gentile supplanters) were under any obligation to believe in Him. Extreme dispies do not qualify as Christians.
Amillennialism - Was largely invented by the Catholic Church in the 4th century under the influence of Augustine. (Although the earlier heretical thinkers Origen and Marcion had pushed forms of this doctrine.) Dismisses and spiritualizes the book of Revelation. The early leaders of the Protestant Reformation including Martin Luther and the heretic and murderer john calvin carried on this misguided tradition.
Postmillennialism - Nonsense. Was invented in the 1700s, but fell out of favor because world events showed it to be preposterous. Proclaims the absurd idea that man will create heaven on earth before Christ returns.
Preterism - Nonsense to the point of blasphemy. It is an extremely old heresy that Paul had to warn against in 2 Thessalonians. The preterist claims that the 2nd Coming has already occurred. Today’s preterists insist that all prophesy was fulfilled in 70 AD. Jesus is never returning in bodily form. There will never be a Resurrection. There will never be a New Heaven and Earth.
The average Christian is a practical preterist. He thinks everything is A OK. The world is fine. Don’t bother him with talk about the possibility that the

(The Romans destroyed the temple in 70 AD and banished the Jews from Judea in 136 AD.) Reply 1:
Dispies have confused most people into believing in a 7-year tribulation period. What they fail to
understand, is that the book of Revelation only describes the 2nd half of Daniel's 70th week.
Timeline of Events (Daniel 9)
Daniel speaks of 70 weeks of years. The weeks can be laid out as follows:
Daniel 9:27 states:
As already indicated, the 70 weeks of years begin in 457 BC with Artaxerxes' Commission to Ezra. The mid-point of week 70 falls about 31 AD when Jesus put an end to Temple sacrifices with His final sacrifice on the Cross. The second half of the 70th week must now be explained because there is a gap between the two halves (a gap between the Cross and the end of history). If there had been no gap, world history would have come to an end in 34 or 35 AD.
The gap between the first half of Daniel's 70th week and the second half is roughly 2000 years. As noted, the first half consisted of Jesus' ministry of 3 plus years that ended with His sacrifice on the Cross and Resurrection. The second three and ½ years of Daniel's 70th week is fulfilled during the three and ½ year Great Tribulation of Revelation (indicated by Revelation as 1260 days or 42 months).
Notice that Jesus, according to Daniel, makes the temple desolate from 70 AD until the 2nd Coming. This indicates that the Jewish temple is not rebuilt during the Great Tribulation. Those who say that they are Jews, but are not (Khazars, etc. - the current occupiers of Israel), will try to rebuild it. But I believe that the two witnesses of Revelation 11 will be empowered to stop them. They will stand guard on Temple Mount, and like Elijah, will have the power to rain down fire from heaven.
Note: Dispensationalism or zionist Chrstianity is dangerous because it will cause many evangelicals to side with antichrist over the two witnesses. Many evangelicals will actually reject Christ, Himself, because of their devotion to fake Israel.

- The 70 weeks begin in 457 BC, with Artaxerxes's Commission to Ezra (Ezra 7:11-26).
- The first seven weeks of years cover the period roughly 457-407 B.C. and include the efforts of Ezra, Nehemiah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi. During the seven weeks, the city is rebuilt fully with plaza and town-moat.
- During the next sixty-two sevens, there is nothing significant. The sixty-nine weeks of years bring the time to 27 A.D.
- The first half of week 70 is approximately 27 A.D. to 31 A.D. About 31 A.D., the Messiah is cut off, but not for Himself.
- The second half of the 70th week, according to this author, begins shortly. The book of Revelation tells the story of the second half.
Daniel 9:27 states:
And He [Jesus] shall confirm the covenant [New Testament] with many [all peoples] for one week [from the time of the announcement until the end of the age]: and in the midst of the week He shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease [with His final sacrifice on the Cross], and for the overspreading of abominations [committed by the Jews, themselves, when they rejected Christ], He shall make it desolate [in 70 AD], even until the consummation [the end of the age], and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate [the Second Coming].

The coming ruler must be the Messiah of v. 25 according to the context and normal rules of literature. Therefore, the people of the coming ruler, are the Jewish people. The statement is telling us that it is the Jewish people who will ruin / spoil the restored city and temple at the arrival of their coming King. Historical records confirm that this is precisely right. We have firsthand accounts of the Fall of Jerusalem from the first century in The Wars of the Jews by Josephus. Anyone who has read and studied these texts will understand the author's point. Although the Roman army actually put the torch to Jerusalem, the destruction of the city was blamed squarely on the Jewish people themselves.
