Signs that the Great Tribulation may be near:
How soon is it until the events of Revelation take place? The Apostle Paul told us the following in 2 Thessalonians:
And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth [holds back] will let [continue to hold back], until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
The Holy Spirit of God is currently holding back satan. The human political forces have not been able to effectuate the final NWO takeover under their own might. Satan will have to intervene to make it happen, but God the Holy Spirit is restraining the devil. When the Holy Spirit allows the devil to act, it begins. Therefore, it is God the Holy Spirit Who decides when the events of Revelation transpire.
Note: There's a time limit. It's called nuclear power in general and Fukushima in particular. Christ can only wait so long to return. If His return is delayed too long, He'll return to a dead planet. The Lord told us that unless those days were shortened, no flesh would survive. The Lord Jesus will return before man destroys himself. It surely isn't much longer. Come Lord Jesus.
Note: I am coming to the conclusion that no human being is capable of filling the role of antichrist. The golfer-in-chief could not do it. I don't think that even Alexander or Julius Caesar could pull it off. I'm inclined to believe that satan will take human form and fill the role, himself. But even satan will fail at the end. Only the Lord Jesus Christ is capable of bringing peace and ruling forever.
Timeline of Events (Revelation)
Revelation tells us of the final 3 ½ year-Tribulation, the 2nd Coming of Christ, the Lord's one thousand year reign on earth, and the unveiling of the New Heaven and Earth. The Tribulation begins suddenly with the unleashing of satan's wrath, the flight of the Church of Philadelphia and other Christians into the Wilderness, and the appearance of the Two Witnesses. The Tribulation could begin at any time. Most everything is in place. The great falling away has already occurred with once Christian Europe now militantly secular, and once Christian America now a combination of militant secularism and the absurd, contradictory religion of "judeo-christianity", which elevates Israel above Christ and His Church. The Beast system of God hatred and warmongering already exists. Satan is ready to attack. The Great Tribulation begins when God says so.
America Gives Birth to the Beast
The American NWO presidents, from bush sr. to obama have been successively fulfilling their role as antichrist.
Enemies of Civilization
The enemies of civilization are many. Counted among the enemy are the following:
The enemies of civilization are strong. The defenders of civilization are anemic. The prognosis is not good.
Outline of Revelation:
Revelation 1 - 3
Seven churches which are in Asia
Revelation 4 and 5
God the Father on His throne (non-literal imagery for no one has ever seen the Father - John 1:18)
Seal One - the white horse
Seal Two - the red horse
Seal Three - the black horse
Seal Four - the pale horse
Seal Five - Christ's martyrs cry out for judgment
Seal Six - God's anger unleashed on the earth
Seal Seven - (Rev. 8) The seven angels and the seven trumpets
Revelation 7 - Sealing of the 144,000 Evangelists
There will be 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel. However, don't expect them to be Jewish. Jews reject Christ. Further, the various tribes of Israel, the ten northern tribes in particular, were lost to history. However, if a young man has the merest trace of blood from the tribe of Dan, for instance, he will count as a representative of Dan. This young man might be a high school student in North Carolina, a car mechanic in Missouri, or a computer tech in St. Petersburg, Russia. The angels will find these young men and anoint them. While the Two Witnesses will probably be older men, the 144,000 Evangelists will mostly be young men. According to Revelation 14:4, they will all be virgins. As such, they will tend to be young.
Revelation 8 and 9
Trumpet One - hail and fire - ⅓ of trees and grass burned
Trumpet Two - burning mountain-like object cast into the sea - ⅓ of the sea becomes blood Eventually, the whole sea dies; Rev. 16:3
Trumpet Three - the star Wormwood falls to earth - ⅓ of land water becomes bitter (all of these first few trumpets may be from nuclear disaster - maybe Fukushima and other nuclear events whether from power plants or missiles)
Trumpet Four - ⅓ of the sun, moon and stars smitten (pollution haze causes the sky to become dark?)
Trumpet Five - hornets unleashed from the bottomless pit, led by the demon Apollyon, torment the unsealed for five months (All five of the first Trumpets, together, seem to make up the First Woe -- the three Woes are mentioned in Rev. 9:12 and 11:14)
Some believe that these hornets are the demonic spirits of the antediluvian nephilim, who have been imprisoned since the Flood. The book of Enoch says of them:‘The giants, who are produced from the spirits and flesh, shall be called evil spirits upon the earth…Evil spirits have proceeded from their bodies; because they are born from men and from holy Watchers is their beginning and primal origin…And the spirits of the giants afflict, oppress, attack, do battle, and work destruction upon the earth…And these spirits shall rise up against the children of men and against the women, because they have proceeded from them…This shall they destroy until the day of consummation, the great judgment in which the age shall be consummated over the Watchers and the godless, yea, shall be wholly consummated. And now as to the Watchers…Say to them therefore: Ye have no peace.’
Trumpet Six - Unleashes the armies of the East - kill ⅓ of men
Pale Horse kills ¼. Leaves 75%. Armies of the east kill ⅓;. In addition to all the other deaths, less than 50% of pre-trib population still alive.
Trumpet Seven - (Rev. 11:15) The Second Coming
Mighty Angel - Christ Himself
But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
Measuring the Temple
And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
Matthew Henry provides excellent commentary:
The Two Witnesses (The Second Woe)
- Testify for 1260 days (The 3 ½ years leading to the Second Coming)
The Two Witnesses are not Elijah and Moses or Elijah and Enoch. As John the Baptist was the Elijah of the First Coming, so two men of this era will be the Elijah of the Second Coming. They may or may not yet be aware of those roles. Neither one is Jewish. Expect there to be many false witnesses. The true Witnesses will stand in unholy Jerusalem (Sodom), and will be empowered by God the Holy Spirit to wreak havoc.
Mary - symbol of the Church
Michael fights Satan
Michael expels Satan from Heaven
Satan goes into a fierce rage
Satan attacks Mary
Mary delivered to the Wilderness for 1260 days (The 3 ½ years leading to the Second Coming). Why does satan attack Mary with such rage? Because Mary includes those Christians that the devil sees as the most dangerous to his rule, in particular, the Two Witnesses, the 144,000 Evangelists, and anyone associated with them, such as their families. The Two Witnesses and the 144,000 Evangelists, however, will leave the rest of Mary and go into the world to do battle.
The first beast
The beast is not a man, but the empire of Satan. The beast has seven heads because the beast has expressed itself as seven different kingdoms. Since the geography of the Bible is Israel-centric, these kingdoms are those that ruled over the tribes of Israel or the land of Israel during Biblical times. For instance, the Ottoman Empire ruled over the Middle East and those Jews living there, but did not do so during the Biblical era. Hence, it cannot be one of the seven heads. Moreover, the Biblical era is not limited to the times of Moses, the Prophets, and the Apostles. The 21st Century AD Great Tribulation is also part of the Biblical era. Therefore, the seven heads or kingdoms of the beast are these: Egypt (which ruled the Hebrews prior to the exodus and which ruled the lowlands of Canaan during the period of the Judges), Assyria (which conquered northern Israel and dominated southern Israel), Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome, and the United States (which is financially and militarily intermingled with Israel - America finances and dominates Israel, while Jewish billionaires finance and dominate American politicians).
The seventh head, or the United States, is wounded as unto death, but will then revive. This near death will be due to some disaster, whether military or economic, from which the USSA beast will recover.
The second beast
The second beast is world religion, including a perverted form of Christianity. It's primary leader will likely be "pope" Francis. His chief lieutenants will likely include Rick Warren, Joel Osteen, John Hagee, various moslem imams and ayatollahs, Jewish rabbis, including the so-called messianic rabbis, new age goofballs, the dalai lama, and so on.
As Matthew Henry said, "God will have a temple and an altar in the world, till the end of time... Those in the outer court, worship in a false manner, or with dissembling hearts, and will be found among his enemies."
The Lamb and the 144,000
Babylon (Jerusalem) * is fallen
Bloody war outside, but near Jerusalem
Revelation 15 and 16
Vial One - Noisome and grievous sores
Vial Two - The sea dies
Vial Three - Inland waters become blood
Vial Four - The sun scorches men with great heat (may be intense solar flares which the modern electrical/electronic infrastructure cannot withstand)
Vial Five - The kingdom of antichrist filled with darkness (the American electrical grid goes down permanently?)
Vial Six - Kings of the East - Armageddon (compare Trumpet Six)
- Revelation does not fully explain the nature of the Battle of Armageddon in terms of its causes and the motives of the combatants. There are those who believe that the "kings of the east" go to war against the antichrist in an act of rebellion (pagan China vs. pagan America). As such, Satan loses control over his kingdom. Revelation 16:13-14 seems to indicate, however, that Satan, the Beast and the False Prophet draw all these world forces together in a last stand against Christ (Rev. 19:19). Thus, the forces of the East are allied with the Western NWO.
Vial Seven - The Final Judgment
The judgment of the Great Whore (* identified in note below)
The Beast will kill the Whore
The 17th chapter tells us, "And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast." At this point, the ten kings cannot be clearly identified.
Babylon/Jerusalem cast into the sea
Second Coming of Christ (The Third Woe). The Lord Jesus Christ returns in all His divine glory. He conquers the world and slays evil.
The Beast and the False Prophet are cast into the Lake of Fire
The Millennial Reign
Satan cast into the Lake of Fire
Great White Throne Judgment
Death and Hell cast into the Lake of Fire
New Heaven and Earth
* The Great Whore, also known as Babylon, is Jerusalem and the anti-Christ Judaic system
Revelation describes the fate of the Whore:
Timeline of Events (Matthew 24)
Matthew 24 largely address the destruction of Jerusalem and was partially fulfilled in 70 AD. There is difficulty, however, in interpreting the 24th chapter of Matthew because it speaks of both the 70 AD destruction of Jerusalem and the Second Coming. The synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke) were written in the 50s AD. For the Jewish writers pre-70 AD, the destruction of the Temple was the end of the world. They could not distinguish the two events of which the Lord spoke. There was a dual fulfillment of this passage that they could not yet understand.
Jesus begins with the events of 70 AD when He says of Herod's temple, "And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down." (BTW, today's "Wailing Wall" is a remnant of a Roman fortress, not Herod's temple, which was annihilated.)
When Jesus spoke further:
"When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:"
He is speaking firstly of 70 AD. The abomination of desolation as foretold by Daniel occurred under the Zealot leader John of Gischala. The Romans would subsequently crush the Zealot rebellion and destroy Jerusalem. The Lord was warning the people to flee. Because these events would occur in 70 AD, some 40 years after Jesus made the prophecy, He could say in v. 34, "Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled."
Yet, there would be a future abomination in the temple of the Church, when organized Christianity (the church of Laodicea) would turn to antichrist (2 Thes 2:4). It would be in those latter days that "... then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." And when Jesus said "For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be", He is speaking of His Second Coming.
Note: The term of Son of Man is a reference to Dan 7:13, which describes the Son of Man, Who is Jesus, appearing before the Ancient of Days, God the Father.
Timeline of Events (Daniel 9)
The 70th week of Daniel has no relation to the Book of Revelation. During the 70th week, Christ initiated the New Covenant with many, died for our sins, and in so doing put an end to the system of temple sacrifice. The Jews rejected Him. Within one generation, the Jews, themselves, would defile the temple. As punishment for rejecting Christ, the Romans were sent to destroy them.
